Honestly! Would you have recognized this rather young guy as Charles Darwin??? Probably not!
Most of the time Darwin is portrayed as this old wise man with this super long beard. However, Darwin made his most important discoveries when he was still very young. This picture was taken in 1854, five years before he published his first edition of Origin of Species.

This is probably the picture many people have in mind when they think of Charles Darwin.
This picture was taken a few years before the evolutionary biologist died and when he had already made most of his discoveries about Natural Selection and evolution in general.
I think it is good to have both pictures in mind when thinking of Charles Darwin just to make sure Darwin has also looked differently than this wise and rather old man.
