Nowadays, many people reckon Charles Darwin among one of the greatest scientists due to his discoveries about evolution and his proposal of Natural Selection on which this section is going to focus. The theory was an essential part of Darwin's Origin of Species, which still today enjoys a high degree of acceptance in the scientists' environment.
However, Darwin himself could not experience this high repuation when he was still alive. In fact, there were Some Problems and objections that were uttered against his proposal. Therefore, his great popolarity did actually not arise until after he was already dead. in the beginning of the 20th century though, with the rediscovery of Mendel's genetics, Darwin's theory of Natural Selection came to new recognition and acceptance.
